Stormwater

Stormwater Management is often taken for granted in our daily lives. However, the mismanagement of stormwater runoff can lead to property damage, pollution of our waterways and wetlands, and interruption of critical economic and municipal activities.

AH’s experienced staff of stormwater professionals understands these issues and is well versed in the complex challenges created by the intersection of precipitation and development. From stormwater compliance to modeling studies and full engineering design, our professional engineers and GIS professionals have you covered.

  • NPDES Compliance – stormwater compliance in the industrial and Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) fields is an integral part of our company’s portfolio. We have worked with clients across all sectors (municipal, industrial, and federal) in the development of MS4 programs, illicit discharge detection and elimination (IDDE) programs, industrial stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs), NPDES permit renewals, and TMDL pollutant reduction plans.
  • Modeling Solutions – whether studying a 2-acre drainage network or a 200-acre watershed, AH’s engineers select and expertly apply the most appropriate hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools for the job. Representative modeling projects include conveyance system capacity analysis, stream restoration and watershed rehabilitation, and modeling in support of new construction, BMP siting and sizing, and stormwater retrofits.
  • Sustainable Design – our designers stay abreast of the latest regulations and technologies related to low-impact stormwater conveyance, storage, and treatment, such that we are able to tackle any retrofit or new development project. From large urban conveyance systems to small BMP retrofits geared toward in-stream nutrient reduction, the design team at AH is well versed in development of economical design solutions for all stormwater applications.
